At 27 years old, the young women who share their stories are the youngest leaders on the largest non-profit Indigenous advocacy organization in Canada. Found in 1989 by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, NOW is an independent, non-partisan alliance of self-run organisations supporting First Nations leaders with their everyday lives; a powerful and growing movement featuring women, youth, Indigenous communities of all sizes; and youth development through social and organisational initiatives that help strengthen First Nations communities and national or regional alliances leading to future development.
